A renovation project that sports two identical solids fastened by an open terrace only distinguished by the patterns formed by the adorned materials. While one calls for a multi-faceted louvred façade, the other challenges the planar geometries. The material palette is minimal with the use of ashlar masonry and angular wooden louvres. The terrace is punctured with several openings to foster movement and circulation in the outdoors. The vegetation on the site peripheries visually blocks the terrace from the street for a higher level of privacy. At the same time, the foliage decorates the terrace with its shadows to make the space more functional during the summer.
